JOYA PEWTER PENDANT NECKLACE

Don’t sell your time to someone else’s purpose. —David Cain

Somewhere else. That’s where you found yourself wanting to be. 9 to 5 every day. Your daily routine was just that. Routine. So routine you knew if you left the house just three minutes later than scheduled, you would add another 15 minutes to your commute.

After every Monday morning staff meeting, when your boss assigned you to a new project and asked, without looking up, “Are you in?” “I’m in,” you would always say.

Nowhere else. It took a while but you finally decided that’s where you want to be now. It was a liberating feeling when you committed to embarking on your own. No more daydreaming. No more making excuses.

You will wear the Joya because it reminds you of strength and purpose. And at tomorrow morning’s meeting you will remain especially strong as you proudly almost shout your response: “I’m out.”

MEASUREMENTS Pewter pendant is 3″ long and 1.5″ wide. Necklace cord measures 18″ and is adjustable to 20″.

Artisans train to make our designs on a regular basis to meet the high quality standards we require. Designs can take a woman between 3 - 5 days to create depending on how intricate the weave is. Our team monitors production throughout the process to minimize corrections on a finished product, saving time and money.

Songa's designs are created using carefully selected natural materials that are locally sourced and eco-friendly. We use sisal plant, banana leaf, recycled paper, upcycled fabric and re-purposed cow horn that would otherwise end up in landfills. These materials ensure the highest quality design all while keeping in mind future generations who will inherit our planet.

'Songa' means 'the path forward' in Swahili. Each design the women make furthers them along the path of financial independence. "I thank those who buy my products because I was able to build a good house. I now have 12 pigs too!" - Harriette, paper bead artisan

"Songa is all about showcasing the woman artisan. They create beautiful designs from natural fibers!" Natalie@sustainablychic
